Yoga Session by Classic Yoga
November 28, 2018Yoga Session by Classic Yoga
The main goal of this yoga session was to serve as a mid-term event for the October term and provide an opportunity for the students to de-stress during the academic term. The event was facilitated by an instructor from Classic Yoga at the Hip-Hop room on level 8 of the ERCI building. Initially, the students’ impression of yoga was simply doing relaxing stretches, but they were shocked by the sheer amount of physical taxation it required. However, with determination and guidance from the yoga instructor, a few students were able to perform the more advanced yoga positions. The session began with a couple of muscle-loosening stretches, followed by breath regulating exercises. The increasing difficulty soon became apparent, with complex positions causing muscle aches for the physically inactive students. This event served as a reminder to not only focus on academics but to also spend the same amount of time and attention to our physical well-being. After all, a healthy mind must be fitted within a healthy body.
“The mind and body are not separate. What affects one, affects the other.”
