Freshmen Orientation Camp 2021

The Freshman Orientation Camp (FOC) was held from 15th to 16th of July 2021. This day camp was organized by the Student Government Association (SGA). There was a considerable amount of planning that was done by the SGA in collaboration with all the Interest Groups (IG) and other volunteers to come up with a plan that would allow a successful camp while abiding by all the safety measures implemented to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Day one of the FOC started with the students walking into campus and getting assigned to their unique group of 5 as per the Covid-19 measures. The students got to interact within their groups of 5 while having their questions about the school and student life answered by the facilitators assigned to them. The students then got to visit all the IG booths set up around the school where they were encouraged to join. The day ended after they got to play games facilitated by the IGs.
The second and last day of the camp was kickstarted by the faculty through an information-sharing session where the students could enquire and interact with the faculty. The day ended with an amazing race where the students explored areas around the school and familiarized themselves with the area. Overall, the camp was smooth flowing and a great success.
The SGA and the IGs were delighted to have taken part in organizing the camp which kickstarted the students’ life in ERAU. There were many positive reviews from the students regarding the camp which encouraged the SGA to continue organizing amazing events in the future to bring together all Eagles and strengthen the Eagles’ spirit
